Deepa Chhagan Lalloo, professionally known as Sunaina, is an executive leader, entrepreneur and organisational psychology professional whose career brings together business strategy, human capital development, organisational effectiveness and leadership transformation.
As Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, she works at the intersection of human capability, organisational psychology and business performance. Her professional approach centres on helping individuals and organisations recognise their strengths, develop their capabilities and translate those capabilities into meaningful and sustainable results.
Her experience spans executive leadership, organisational design, workforce transformation, human resources strategy, business advisory, shared-services development, mergers and acquisitions integration, and entrepreneurship. Having held leadership responsibilities in multinational corporate environments and built businesses of her own, she brings both strategic perspective and practical experience to complex organisational challenges.
In 2026, Deepa Chhagan Lalloo received recognition from Kennedy University as a Peace Ambassador and an Honorary Doctorate recipient, with specialisations in Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership. These distinctions complement her professional work in leadership, organisational development and human capability.
She is also Author at GlobalX Publications, contributing to academic knowledge and professional discourse in leadership, organisational psychology and strategic management.
Deepa's professional journey reflects a combination of corporate leadership, advisory experience and entrepreneurial initiative.
As Executive Director of Human Resources and Human Capital at AvaCare Health Group Global, she led the development and centralisation of human capital and operational functions across a multinational group supporting 18 subsidiaries across 12 African countries, the UAE, India and Kazakhstan.
Her responsibilities extended beyond traditional human resources leadership to include organisational design, governance, payroll, finance integration, IT implementation, shared services, workforce transformation and mergers and acquisitions integration. This work gave her direct experience in aligning people, systems and operating structures across geographically dispersed businesses.
At BDO, she contributed to talent management, organisational development, leadership development, succession planning, performance management and employee engagement. Her internal and client-facing responsibilities strengthened her ability to move from organisational assessment and strategic planning to practical implementation.
From September 2018 to August 2025, she also served as an Assessor for the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Her work involved assessing senior executives, providing developmental feedback and supporting the application of leadership learning to real-world professional challenges.
Together, these experiences have shaped a leadership perspective that combines organisational insight, commercial understanding and an emphasis on accountable execution.
As an entrepreneur, Deepa has established and developed businesses across advisory, training, skills development and retail.
She founded Bakeology in 2019, with operations beginning in 2020. The venture was established to make practical skills development and vocational training more accessible, particularly within the hospitality and food and beverage sector. It subsequently expanded into multiple business concepts and up to four retail stores.
This journey involved strategic planning, business model development, team leadership, customer experience, financial management, operational improvement and resource allocation. It also reinforced her belief that professional development should create practical opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and greater economic self-sufficiency.
Through Altius Global Advisory, she continues to bring together her experience in organisational psychology, executive leadership and business development to address questions of human capability, leadership effectiveness and organisational growth.
In 2026, Deepa Chhagan Lalloo received the following honorary recognitions from Kennedy University:
These distinctions form part of her wider professional profile, reflecting the themes of leadership, human development and organisational contribution that underpin her work.
Her honorary recognitions are presented separately from her earned academic degrees and professional qualifications.
At the heart of Deepa's professional philosophy is the belief that human potential is widely distributed, but potential alone does not guarantee performance.
She distinguishes between three connected ideas:
This perspective recognises that individuals need more than knowledge or opportunity alone. They also need environments that support development, leadership that enables contribution and structures that allow their abilities to translate into results.
For organisations, the same principle applies. Talent creates value when it is developed, supported and aligned with meaningful objectives.
As artificial intelligence and automation reshape the workplace, Deepa emphasises the importance of human judgement, adaptability, leadership and organisational readiness. Her perspective is not about choosing between people and technology, but about understanding how human and technological capabilities can work together to create better outcomes.
Deepa Chhagan Lalloo's professional journey reflects a commitment to understanding people, strengthening organisations and connecting strategic ambition with practical results.
Her experience across corporate leadership, executive assessment, advisory and entrepreneurship informs a perspective that considers both the human and operational dimensions of performance. She recognises that sustainable progress depends on developing people, enabling sound decisions and creating organisational environments in which capability can be applied effectively.
Through Altius Global Advisory, she continues to focus on the development of human capability and organisational effectiveness in a changing world of work.
Her leadership philosophy remains clear: potential creates possibility, capability turns possibility into action, and intentional leadership helps transform action into lasting impact.
