We are proud to recognize Dr. Joao P. De Aquino, M.D., an accomplished psychiatrist, researcher, and mentor, who has been honored with the 2025 Postdoctoral Mentoring Prize. He currently serves as Assistant Chief of Inpatient Psychiatry and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, where he combines clinical leadership with academic excellence.
In addition to his research, Dr. de Aquino has been famous in mentorship of postdoctoral fellows and junior clinicians. His mentorship has seen many young beginning researchers expand their abilities, discover their place in the scientific community, and do so in a manner that can positively impact patient care.

His influence is so much bigger than his own work, he is molding the future of psychiatry in the people he trains and the ones he inspires.
