We are excited to share that Dr. Cristina Rodríguez (Tsouroukdissian) has been selected as a 2025 Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Freeman Hrabowski Scholar. This award honors early-career faculty who show promise in research and mentoring.
Dr. Rodríguez works in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University. Her team is building new optical imaging tools to see how the brain works inside living systems.
The Freeman Hrabowski Scholars program gives large support—including salary, research funds, and equipment, to help recipients grow their labs, mentor students, and advance science.
The imaging instrument created by Dr. Rodriguez enables the researcher to view the living brain tissue and learn how brain networks operate. This may result in fresh knowledge in brain workings and illness.
The style of her laboratory provides learners with practical exposure to actual research instruments and procedures. Such training is used to prepare younger scientists.
Being selected as an HHMI Freeman Hrabowski Scholar is a major achievement. It shows that Dr. Rodríguez’s work has both scientific impact and mentoring strength.
At GlobalX Publications, we are proud to highlight her story, her dedication to science, and her commitment to creating a lab where every student gets a chance to succeed.
Join us in congratulating Dr. Cristina Rodríguez on this recognition and the positive change she is making in both science and education.
