RESEARCH AND TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD 2025 WINNER

By 2025, Dr. Adnan Alrubaye will be known as one of the contributions possessing exceptional research and teaching excellence with the Research and Teaching Excellence Award which will showcase the remarkable contributions he made in academia and also his effort in promoting the scientific world as well as shaping future scholars. In his announcement and professional credit, Dr. Alrubaye said that he was honored to have been chosen to be one of the recipients of this recognition and he highlighted the team effort of his students, colleagues, and mentors that have helped him in his work and mission.

Dr. Alrubaye is an assistant professor of poultry science, as well as the associate director of the graduate program in cell and molecular biology at the University of Arkansas. Besides the award on research and teaching excellence, he was also known as the recipient of University of Arkansas Faculty Gold Medal, the highest faculty award in the university and the Educator Award of the NACTA 2025 conference. These awards are a sign of national and institutional appreciation of his outstanding contributions to learning and teaching .

The study of Dr. Alrubaye is devoted to the bacterial chondronecrosis with osteomyelitis (BCO) lameness in broiler chickens as one of the primary animal welfare and economical problems in poultry science. His work is committed to learning the causes of this complicated disease and creating effective mitigation mechanisms that can be suitable to animal welfare and the world poultry industry at large. Simultaneously, he is also a faculty member in one of the largest undergraduate courses in the university  of general microbiology course that enrolls hundreds of students per semester demonstrating that he can integrate both high-impact research and superior quality teaching and mentorship. 

The academic path that Dr. Alrubaye took, such as obtaining a veterinary medicine degree, a medical microbiology degree, and a degree in cell and molecular biology, points to his passion about science and education. He loves to show curiosity, critical thinking and confidence to his students, this aspect is evident in his classroom as well as in his research setting.

Dr. Adnan Alrubaye has won the 2025 Research and Teaching Excellence Award. It has not only resulted from his academic achievement but also from the impact that has changed the lives of students and the academic community in general. His writing may be the benchmark of the highest degree of academic excellence, and his achievement can be inspiring to others to reach the highest level of excellence in research, teaching, and guidance
