Professor Samantha Bennet has a long and extensive history of experience that has enabled her to become a leader in academic as well as global circles. She is the current Chair of the International Association of the Study of Popular Music (IASPM), in which she leads discussions and partnerships in the formation of music study throughout the global community.
She is not a leader in the administrative domain only. She has sat in important academic committees, served in international boards and formed networks that enhance relationships between scholars, students, and institutions.
Professor Bennett is a highly prominent expert in the field of music as well. She has written and edited six books, which address cultural and academic aspects of popular music. Her work and literature have remained pertinent in the study, teaching and appreciation of music in the society.
Her work as a teacher has also garnered both national and international awards. These awards demonstrate that she was able to inspire students and guide colleagues and create learning environments that foster creativity and scholarship.
The life story of Professor Bennett emphasizes the strength of leadership, scholarship and advocacy. She has demonstrated that education is not merely about knowledge but also establishing communities, developing culture and creating new possibilities to the succeeding generation of learners.
